1. Who we are and what these terms cover
1.1 CityLoot is a digital platform (mobile app and website) that helps you discover discounts and offers ( “ Deals ” ) at local shops, restaurants, cafés and service providers (each a “ Shop ” ) in your area, and claim or pay for them. These Customer Terms of Use (the “ Terms ” ) form a binding agreement between you ( “ you ” , the “ User ” ) and the operator of CityLoot identified in the table above ( “ CityLoot ” , “ we ” , “ us ” ).
1.2 By creating an account, or by browsing or using the app, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy (Πολιτική Απορρήτου). If you do not agree, please do not use CityLoot.
1.3 These Terms are provided in English and in Greek (Ελληνικά). In case of any discrepancy, the Greek version prevails.
1.4 We provide CityLoot as an “ information society service ” and online intermediation service under Greek and EU law, including Presidential Decree 131/2003 (e-commerce, transposing Directive 2000/31/EC), Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) and Law 5099/2024, and consumer-protection Law 2251/1994.
2. What CityLoot is — and is not
2.1 CityLoot is a discovery and booking-of-offers platform that connects you with independent Shops. CityLoot is not the seller, manufacturer or provider of the food, goods or services offered in a Deal — the Shop is solely responsible for them, including their description, quality, safety, allergen information, pricing and for honouring its Deals.
2.2 When you claim or pay for a Deal, a contract for the underlying product or service is formed between you and the Shop. CityLoot’s role is limited to operating the platform, facilitating discovery and facilitating payment.
2.3 Payments are processed by our licensed payment partner, Viva.com (Viva Payments) , a regulated payment institution. CityLoot does not hold your funds and is not a bank or payment institution. Money you pay for a Deal is collected and settled by Viva.com and split between CityLoot and the Shop.
3. Definitions
Deal / Offer — a discount or promotion published by a Shop (e.g. percent-off, 1+1, Happy Hour, Mega Loot, Flash, Combo).
In-app prepaid Deal — a specific offer you pay for in the app before you redeem it at the Shop.
Code — the QR code and 4–6 character fallback code that proves your claim/redemption.
Points — CityLoot loyalty points (see Section 8).
4. Your account
4.1 You can sign in with Google, Apple or an email and password. You must give accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4.2 CityLoot is intended for users aged 15 and over . If you are under 15, you may use CityLoot only with the consent of the person who holds parental responsibility, in line with Article 21 of Law 4624/2019 and Article 8 GDPR. Age confirmation (15+) is collected at sign-up.
4.3 You may close your account at any time from the Menu ( “ Delete Account ” ). Some data may be retained where the law requires (see the Privacy Policy).
5. How Deals work
5.1 Deals are shown with their key terms: the discount, the description, any quantity limit, the days/hours they are valid and their expiry. Always read the Deal description before claiming — for food, it includes ingredient and allergen information provided by the Shop. Some Deals also carry specific redemption conditions or a use-by window, shown on the Deal — please follow them.
5.2 You pay for a Deal in the app, then redeem it by showing your Code at the Shop:
In-app prepaid (specific offers): you pay in the app first, then show your Code at the Shop. The minimum in-app transaction is €4.99.
5.3 Prices shown to you are the consumer prices set by the Shop and are the amounts you pay for the product or service. Any applicable VAT is included in the price the Shop charges you.
5.4 Quantity and per-customer limits may apply (by default, one redemption per customer per Deal). A Deal may sell out or be paused or withdrawn by the Shop at any time before you claim it. Pausing or withdrawal affects future purchases only: a Code you have already paid for remains redeemable under its stated validity (Section 6.2).
5.5 Discounts shown are set by the Shop against its own reference price. Under Greek price-indication law (Law 4933/2022, amending Laws 2251/1994 and 4177/2013), the Shop is responsible for ensuring that any “ before ” / “ was ” price is the lowest price it applied in the 30 days before the reduction. CityLoot may remove a Deal whose stated saving appears misleading.
6. Your Code and redemption
6.1 After you claim or pay, your Code is saved in “ My Deals ” . The Code is shown as a QR code with a short typed fallback.
6.2 A claimed Code is valid throughout the Deal’s validity period, on each day the Deal is valid, until the Shop’s closing time on that day (not midnight, and not a 15-minute countdown), and until any use-by deadline shown on the Deal. If a Deal is limited to specific days, the Code is valid only on those days, until closing time. A Deal expiring or being deactivated after you have paid does not invalidate a Code you have already paid for.
6.3 To redeem, show your Code at the Shop; the Shop scans it or enters it to mark the Deal as redeemed. You have already paid in the app, so nothing further is collected at the till.
6.4 If your Code cannot be redeemed because of a problem at the Shop (for example the Shop is closed during stated hours, refuses a valid Code, or the Deal was materially different from its description), contact us — see Sections 7 and 18.
7. Payments, cancellations and refunds
7.1 For in-app prepaid Deals, you pay through Viva.com using the payment methods offered at checkout. Your payment confirms your claim and your Code is issued immediately.
7.2 Statutory right of withdrawal (14 days). Whether you have a 14-day cooling-off right depends on what you bought: there is no withdrawal right for Deals tied to a specific date or period — catering, leisure activities and events (Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU / Law 2251/1994). For goods (Shopping Deals) and for open-ended services not tied to a date, the 14-day right generally applies. Most CityLoot Deals are dated catering/leisure and so are not subject to cooling-off once claimed. The mapping is set per Deal category and shown on each Deal.
7.3 CityLoot refund policy. The Shop is the seller and is responsible for honouring its Deals and for refunds. CityLoot passes your request to the Shop and, where a refund is due, it is processed via Viva.com. You receive the full amount you paid, in a single refund. Internally that refund is funded proportionally: the Shop's share of the price is reversed from the Shop's funds, and CityLoot's platform fee is reversed from CityLoot's own funds. You never have to claim the platform fee separately, and this split has no effect on the amount or the timing of your refund — all without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights. A prepaid Deal is refundable where:
the Shop did not honour a valid Code (e.g. closed during stated hours, refused redemption, or ran out);
the Deal was materially misdescribed or unavailable as offered; or
the charge was a duplicate or an obvious error.
7.4 Expired, unredeemed Codes. If you simply did not redeem a prepaid Deal before it expired and none of the situations in 7.3 applies, the Deal lapses and is, in principle, non-refundable (like a pre-booked table, ticket or voucher) — this is disclosed at purchase. You may still raise the matter via “ Report an Issue ” : your request is forwarded to the Shop, which decides at its discretion whether to refund (in full or in part) or to decline, and the outcome is sent to you in the app. Where the Shop does approve a refund, Section 7.3 applies: the amount approved reaches you in full, CityLoot's platform fee included. Your mandatory statutory rights (including Section 7.2 for goods and open-ended services) are unaffected. Any CityLoot credit or Points in such cases are discretionary, not a promise.
7.5 Refunds, where due, are paid to your original payment method via Viva.com as a single payment for the full amount approved, normally within 14 days of approval. Your statutory legal-guarantee rights against the Shop for faulty or non-conforming products/services are not affected.
7.6 We relay your refund request to the Shop and send you the outcome; we act as the channel, not as guarantor of the Shop's performance. That does not affect our commitment in 7.3 to reverse our own platform fee whenever a refund is approved. Contact support@cityloot.gr with your account email and the Deal details.
7.7 Nothing in this Section limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights you have under Law 2251/1994 and EU consumer law that cannot be waived; where those rights give you more, they prevail.
8. CityLoot Points
8.1 You receive 100 Points when you create your account, and 100 Points when a friend you referred completes their first transaction (see Section 9). You also earn 1 Point per €1 you spend (about 1% back) , credited to your CityLoot account as in-app credit for use on future purchases. From time to time we may run optional bonus-Point promotions. Points are a loyalty credit, not cash (see 8.2–8.3).
8.2 1 Point = €0.01 in value. You can apply Points to an in-app purchase at participating Shops that accept Points — currently in steps of 500 Points (€5) and on Deals above a minimum value shown in the app. Points are funded by CityLoot; the Shop always receives the full price. A Shop may choose not to accept Points.
8.3 Points expire 12 months after they are earned (rolling); when you spend Points, your oldest Points are used first. Points have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, are not electronic money or a payment service, and are non-transferable. We may adjust or cancel Points obtained through error, abuse or fraud. CityLoot reserves the right to change or end the Points and rewards programme — including how Points are earned, their value, and how they are redeemed (increasing or decreasing it) — on reasonable notice; this will not reduce Points you have already earned.
9. Referrals
9.1 You can invite friends with your referral code or link. Referrals are attributed at sign-up only (by deep link or by entering a code at registration). When your referred friend completes their first transaction, you receive 100 Points.
9.2 One referral applies per new user (first valid referral wins). We may withhold or reverse referral rewards for self-referral, fake accounts or other abuse, and we may limit the number of rewarded referrals per account (currently 2). Registered CityLoot Promoters (Ambassadors/Creators) take part under a separate Promoter Agreement and are not subject to this cap.
10. Acceptable use
10.1 You agree to use CityLoot lawfully and not to: misuse Codes; create false accounts; scrape, copy or interfere with the platform; submit false reviews; or attempt to defraud Shops or CityLoot.
10.2 CityLoot does not offer alcohol, tobacco, or gambling products. Deals never include alcoholic drinks, tobacco, or betting / games of chance.
11. Reviews and user content
11.1 You may leave a review only for a Shop where you have a verified redeemed transaction. Reviews must be honest, lawful and not offensive. We may moderate, hide or remove content that breaches these Terms or the law.
11.2 You keep ownership of content you submit but grant CityLoot a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use it within the service. You are responsible for content you post.
12. Availability, accuracy and disclaimers
12.1 We work to keep CityLoot available and accurate, but Deals, prices, descriptions, ratings and map information come largely from Shops and third parties. We do not warrant that they are always complete, accurate or available, and the service is provided “ as is ” and “ as available ” .
12.2 External rating badges (e.g. a Google rating) are shown for information only, are not live links and do not imply any endorsement.
13. Our liability to you
13.1 CityLoot is liable for damage caused by our own failure to provide the platform with due care, as required by Greek law. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of Shops, including the quality, safety or fitness of their products and services.
13.2 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection law (Law 2251/1994). Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim relating to a Deal is limited to the amount you paid through CityLoot for that Deal.
14. Your personal data
14.1 We process your personal data — including location data used to show nearby Deals — as described in our Privacy Policy (Πολιτική Απορρήτου), in accordance with the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), Law 4624/2019 and Law 3471/2006. See: https://cityloot.gr/privacy .
15. Changes to these Terms
15.1 We may update these Terms (for example to reflect new features or legal requirements). We will post the updated version with a new date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after the changes take effect means you accept them.
16. Suspension and termination
16.1 We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms or the law, or to prevent fraud or harm. You can close your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. liability, governing law) continue after termination.
17. Complaints and dispute resolution
17.1 If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@cityloot.gr — we aim to resolve issues quickly. You can also report a problem from the “ Report an Issue ” item in the Menu, and we will send you the outcome.
17.2 As a consumer you may also contact the Greek Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή, www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr) or an approved alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body under Directive 2013/11/EU. (Note: the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform was permanently discontinued on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.) These rights are in addition to your right to go to court.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
18.1 These Terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes are subject to the courts of Piraeus, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have as a consumer to bring or defend proceedings in the courts of your place of domicile.
19. Provider identification (e-commerce / DSA)
In line with Presidential Decree 131/2003 and the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 / Law 5099/2024), our identification and single point of contact are set out below.
